AmTrust Title announces new Southeast Counsel Richard Himes, Esq. joins to oversee Region.

AmTrust Title Insurance Company (the “Company” or “AmTrust Title”) today announced that Richard H. Himes, Jr., Esq. has joined the firm as Southeast Counsel to oversee business in Florida and neighboring states in the Southeast. A seasoned title insurance attorney with extensive experience in creating and managing title insurers and title insurance agencies in numerous states, Mr. Himes’ immediate responsibility will be to provide underwriting assistance to agents in Florida and the Southeast as well as to support Company management as it launches business operations in those states. “Committed to growing our business in the southeastern U.S., we are equally committed to sourcing the most accomplished professionals to implement that mandate,” said Jason Gordon, president. Rick has an impressive background in title--more than 39 years dealing in every aspect of the industry from title searches to processing and closing both residential and commercial transactions, to document preparation, underwriting, claims and claims management, to regulatory matters and many more. The co-founder and operator of two title insurance underwriters and two title insurance agencies, as well as managing and expanding a title agency owned by a Fortune 500 company, Rick’s rich experience will help to accelerate our expansion in an area of the country where demand is consistently on the rise.” Just prior to joining AmTrust Title, Mr. Himes was Partner in Title Experts and Management, serving as consultant and expert witness on title insurance agency and underwriter management, escrow, title, regulatory and related matters. Before that, he was President & Senior Underwriting Counsel of Mason Title & Escrow Company, a multi-office title agency operating throughout Florida. He has served as a member of several American Land Title Association committees over the years and twice as a director of the Louisiana Land Title Association. He twice received Fidelity National Financial Chairman’s Roundtable Award, in 2001 and 2002. He served in the military from 1970-78, United States Army Reserve, 489th Civil Affairs Company and 192nd Judge Advocate General Detachment, Knoxville Tennessee. He is a current member of the State Bar of Georgia, and he is also licensed to practice in Tennessee. Mr. Himes earned a BA degree cum laude from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and a J.D. degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law.
